The keys were turned over to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition design team today. They’ll now work behind closed doors to furnish the Akana’s new home, adding their own special touches. The landscape has been transformed from mounds dirt to a tropical oasis with amazing rock features and Hawaiian botanicals. At end of the day, volunteers were treated to a special private luau at Sea Life Park for the opportunity to mix and mingle with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition design team.

Team Member Highlight ~ Pauline Gonzales, Robert’s Hawaii
After putting in her regular hours at her job at Robert’s Hawaii, Pauline Gonzales volunteers an additional 8 – 10 hours each day at the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build site. Pauline is responsible for all bus transportation to and from the site for volunteers and spectators. “This experience has been amazing, it is overwhelming to see so much support from our local community,” admits Pauline. “Seeing over 48 bus loads each day full of dedicated and determined volunteers is enough to keep me going throughout the night.”
